Louie has been a member of Local 1442 since 1969.
He started as a Courtesy Clerk with Safeway.
After one and a half years he went to night crew.
Over time, Louie wanted to take on more responsibilities
and became a Supervisor. With time and hard work
he became a Grocery Manager, which he did for
eight years. At this point he felt it was time for a
change and transferred into the Produce Department.
Again, with hard work and effort in 2003 he
became Produce Manager.
In Louie's 35 plus years in the stores he had
an opportunity to help, mentor and promote
other members and guide them with Union ideas.
As a new Local 1442 Union Business Representative,
he is honored to help Union members in a greater capacity.
