What happens when
the contract expires? |
• The Unions objective is to bargain in good faith a successor agreement with your
employer that will be ratified by a majority of members and provide the best benefits
and working conditions possible.
• An agreement is not reached before contract expiration, but an extension of the contract is recommended as long as progress in negotiations can be made.
• An agreement cannot be reached, the Union has exhausted all of its negotiating possibilities and avenues and the employers force a strike, or initiate a lockout.
